Sitting at the bus stop
And it’s raining
Don’t know if the cold wind
Is warning or soothing balm
Outside matches my insides
Is there a rainbow
Hiding somewhere?
A rainbow I cannot yet see
A rainbow to speak to me
Of your unfailing faithfulness
I have to admit
Something in me likes this
This chaotic energy
The rain mimicking my thoughts
Grey feelings covering the skies
Spilt tears make glassy sidewalks
Emotions that sway the leaves
Back and forth
Threatening but soothing
It’s familiar
But don’t they say
Familiarity breeds contempt?
